The first weekend of the Detroit Dirty Show, February 12, 13 and 14, 2016 was excellent. Artists selling prints through the Erotic Print Store sold more that 700 items to the appreciative crowd. Saturday was a sell out, and Sunday (Valentines Day) was a strong strong night despite the short hours.
We have two more days, Friday 02/15/2016 and Saturday 02/16/2016 to sell art. If you can attend, come by and check it out. This is the way to do an erotic art show right.

Friday, February 12, 2016 is opening night at the International Erotic Art Exhibition in Detroit MI. More widely known as the Detroit Dirty Show, this is one of the largest and best attended erotic shows in the US.

What is the Detroit Dirty Show?
It's one of the largest annual erotic art shows in the US. Artists from around the world apply in all media. The 2016 event will be the 17th annual Detroit Dirty Show. For a brief history of the show check out this Huffinton Post article from 2013

When is the show held?
The Dirty Show is usually held on the weekends closest to Valentines day. Sometimes the show is held over for a third weekend if the previous weekend sold out.

What is the Erotic Print Store?
The store sells prints for selected artists at the Dirty Show. Attendance is not necessary, many artists ship their prints to the store. The Erotic Print Store takes a 40% commission on all sales.

How can I exhibit my erotic art?
The Dirty Show just opened it's call for art, view it at dirtyshow17.artcall.org/. … Erotic Print Store is currently reviewing work, send me a note if you're interested in selling through the store.

Are only accepted Dirty Show artists allowed in the print store?
No, artists are invited to sell through the print store based on the quality and marketability of their erotic work. The main show is juried for shock and awe, the store is looking for erotic work people want to take home with them.

What kind of erotic art sells?
A really wide variety of work sells, making it hard to give specifics. But in general it's artwork that really nails a kink, art that connects to the viewer to their own inner passions and taste that sells well.

I'm starting to get my mind around all the stuff I can do to get ready for Dirty Show. The print store is looking for erotic art of all kinds so I'm starting to spend time reviewing lots of stuff here on DA. For those of you who may not know about the Dirty Show, it's a huge exhibition of erotic art held in Detroit on a couple of weekends around Valentine's day. The 2016 show will be the 17th annual, bigger and better than ever. Although the call for art hasn't gone out yet, now is the time for planning new work and meeting new artists.
